Assignment 3: Magazine Sample Assignment:

Set: Monday Oct 10

Due: Monday Oct 17  

As a group you must find and bring in at least 10 (at least 2-4 each) examples of magazines.  Don’t choose magazines that your target audience (for school magazine) will not be interested in.  Choose well designed magazines (avoid trashy cheap magazines). If you need my help – see me. I will post a list of good magazines on the blog this week but it is up to YOU to find them as part of your research.

The purpose of this task is too gain inspiration for your school magazine. You are looking for inspiration of fonts/text, layout organisation, style and appeal of the magazine so you can apply it to your own.

If you don’t bring magazines then get scans or pictures of:

-the cover

-table of contents

-articles

-various spreads from the magazine which might be useful/inspirational of your magazine
-the new key terms you learned (folio, cover lines, banners, masthead etc)

GROUP POWERPOINT
Due: Wed Oct 17  (you should be doing this mostly in lesson today on Monday)

Individually complete a powerpoint as to what inspires you from the magazines you choose.  Then put the powerpoint together to make one powerpoint. Colour code and label the slides with your name.

Slide 1: title (name of assignment) group member names
Slide 2: group names (key) and colour codes
Part A: Group member 1's slides
Part B: Group member 2's slides
Part C: Group member 3's slides
Part D: Group member 4's slides
Part E: Group member 5's slides
