Due: Thursday Oct 21
This is a very lengthy and in depth project – I am giving you a week and half so you have plenty of time to work on this. DON’T LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE! I will be meeting with you in lessons and reviewing your progress daily. You must always have work to show me you are progressing.
To be done in your magazine groups – you must divide the work and colour code the slides to show who did what, also include your name on corner of slide in small font. The work must be divided up equally and you must work together at some points of the project (example – visits and research = go as group)
You will be completing a magazine research assignment in two parts in a single powerpoint presentation:
As part of your research you will have to visit a range of book shops and libraries. You cannot do all of this research online! Some of your research should include interviews with people which you need to take evidence through written text and photographs or video.
Remember – PEEE (point: make a point in a clear title, evidence: put a picture to support your point as evidence, E/E: explanation and effect to use clear and brief bullet points (near the evidence) to explain it and the effect of it.
PART A (this to be done 1st before part B)

-when were they invented and why
-what were their original purposes’?

-What are the benefit of magazines to readers?
-How to magazines target their audiences?
-What kinds of magazines are there currently? Give a range of examples (for this you will have to go to a range of shops including book stores and libraries) ( a picture and simple bullet point will suffice)
-What role does advertising have on different magazines?
-What technologies are currently used to make magazines?
-What different materials (ink/paper/binding) are currently used to make magazines?
